Common Questions Regarding Cosmetic Acupuncture

Am I a candidate for Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture is suitable for most skin types and ages – however it may not be suitable for you if you have a history of severe migraines, or if you are pregnant.

During your consultation we will assess your suitability for this procedure.

Are there any side effects or down time with Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture is gentle and safe in the hands of a well trained practitioner. There is no down time involved with cosmetic or facial acupuncture, so you can go straight back to work after a treatment. We do recommend that you take it easy though, as the effects of acupuncture continue even after the needles are taken out.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

No, it’s actually very comfortable. Many people end up taking a nap during treatment and leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Is Acupuncture Covered By Insurance?

Yes, acupuncture is covered by private health insurance. Check your level of cover with your health fund and be sure to bring in your insurance cards for on-the-spot claims with HICAPS.
